Rapala Introduces Four New Colors in its Proven Shallow Shad Rap and Jointed Shad Rap Families
If you’re among the legion of Shad Rap super fans, Rapala has good news for you. It’s introducing four new colors in its legendary Shallow Shad Rap and Jointed Shad Rap lure lines that will drive bass, walleye, salmon, lake trout, and musky absolutely crazy when cast or trolled.
The four new colors are black wonderbread, fruit punch, glow pink squirrel, and voodoo haze. These patterns offer the opposite of natural-looking patterns for those times when high contrast and flash are required to trigger bites.
Rapala is introducing these new colors in the Shallow Shad Rap® and Jointed Shad Rap® family because these are two of the most effective lures ever created and are relied upon by anglers worldwide. Featuring that classic Rapala wounded-minnow wobble, these lures, which imitate natural baitfish, have proven their ability to produce bites for more than 30 years.
“Over the course of the season, I’ll use or experiment with every color under the spectrum,” said legendary angler Al Lindner, speaking about the colors offered in the Shad Rap family of lures. “Experienced anglers agree, color really makes a difference.”
Shallow Shad Rap®
The Shallow Shad Rap® is constructed of premium balsa and is designed with a shallow running lip design, which makes it ideal for fishing skinny water. It features precise action, a detailed finish and proven fish-catching patterns. Hand-tuned and tank-tested for perfection right out of the box, it features super sharp VMC® black nickel treble hooks.
Running 4 to 6 feet deep, just cast it out, let it sit until the ripples fade away, then begin a slow, enticing retrieve. It is equally effective when twitching, casting or slow trolling.
The four new colors are now available in two Shallow Shad Rap sizes, size No. 5 (2 inches in body length) and size No. 7 (2-3/4 inches in body length). The new colors join 16 existing colors for a total of 20 color patterns for anglers to choose from.
Jointed Shad Rap®
The Jointed Shad Rap offers wide swimming jointed action with a loud rhythmic rattle to mimic and exaggerate the action of a wounded baitfish. Suspending on pause just like the real thing, it is just too much for even the wariest fish to resist. It’s lightweight and durable plastic body construction enhances the action. It swims with perfection right out of the box due to hand-tuning and tank-testing. It features super sticky sharp VMC® black nickel hooks for quick, sure penetration. The Jointed Shad Rap, with its quick diving lip design, runs 6-13 feet deep, based on an angler’s line choice and lure speed.
