Rapala Introduces a New Size 7 and New Colors for the Jigging Shadow Rap

When big fish are suspending deep or near the bottom, regardless of the time of year, sometimes the answer is to go vertical or go targeted with FFS. Straight down fast with a lure that offers the type of erratic darting action that fish simply can’t resist. 

Building on the success of the original Jigging Shadow Rap® 9 (3-1/2 inches), Rapala® is introducing its new smaller brother in a size No. 7 (2-3/4 inches). In addition, the entire Jigging Shadow Rap line welcomes four new colors: Bad Lipstick, Juicy Lucy, Leprechaun, and Moldy Fruit. 

Jigging Shadow Rap New Colors

The Jigging Shadow Rap is the perfect lure for vertical fishing presentations – in open water and hardwater (ice fishing) – all year long.  It also has proven super effective pitching into shallows or pitching over suspending fish. A true multi-species lure, when fish – bass, walleye, trout, pike, crappie -- are deep down, the Jigging Shad Rap is the answer. 

It’s built with a durable plastic body construction that features a broad silhouette. It is lead-free, instead, weighted with zinc. It features a VMC Black Nickel Round Bend Center Treble Hook and Tail Hook. 

In comparison to the original Jigging Rap, the new Jigging Shadow Rap offers a slower, smoother gliding action, which is especially effective on lethargic fish. 

In addition to its four new colors, the lure comes in a total of 16 colors, including: Bad Lipstick, Blue Silver, Black Yellow, Glow, Glow Pink Squirrel, Glow Slimy Lime, Glow Tiger, Halloween, Juicy Lucy, Leprechaun, Moldy Fruit, Nordic Perch, Purpledescent, Live Perch, Silver, and Live Smelt. 

The new No. 7 Jigging Shadow Rap weighs in at 3/8 oz. and the No. 9 weighs 5/8 oz.
