I unpack the Rapala CountDown Backpack and notice its subtle, elegant design immediately. The material appears very robust and the seams are neatly processed. The hook and loop straps, which are for the transport of rods and nets, are immediately noticeable. Integrated holders for different tools are located on both shoulder straps.
The main storage compartment has smaller storage compartments in it, which offers great space for organizing items.
Overall, the CountDown Backpack seems very high-quality. As an angler, I feel the urge to pack it and head to waters!
I wanted a backpack that looked chic, was of good quality and, above all, was very practical.
Since I am a fan of subtle, elegant designs, the choice was not difficult for me and after some research I decided to go with the CountDown Backpack from Rapala. I can wear when fishing, to college, or to other leisure activities. It doesn't necessarily look like a fishing backpack and has space for a 15-inch laptop as well.
However, my focus is on fishing activities.
I fish more and more on the Kiel Canal or on the Baltic Sea coast. Therefore, I need a backpack that fits all my equipment, and which is comfortable to carry. The Rapala CountDown Backpack has a ventilated, padded back support which, in combination with the padded shoulder straps, guarantees very comfortable carrying - even all day.
This backpack turned out to be a real space saver. Camera, bait, hook or packed lunch… It has space for everything. Thanks to smaller organizer pockets and compartments, all items stay in their place and can be found very quickly when needed. This is great, because many backpacks only have one compartment which can make things messy.
Even in different weather conditions, this backpack proved to be absolutely practical. Even heavier rain could not wet the items packed inside the CountDown Backpack.
(This backpack is not waterproof but water-repellent, so it’s always safest to pack expensive electronics in waterproof storage bags.)
When fishing, the backpack can get dirty. The dirt can be easily wiped off with a wet cloth thanks to the dirt-repelling material. The bottom of this backpack is reinforced, which allows you to place it on the moist ground.
In terms of practicality, the CountDown Backpack scores with its numerous attachment points. If you have a hike to the fishing spot ahead of you, or you are out on your bike, you can attach the rod and the net to the bag using the hook and loop straps.
Once you have reached the spot and caught a fish, you don't have to look for the pliers in your backpack for long. Because the CountDown Backpack has an integrated spot for them, which is easily reachable. It is located on the shoulder strap of the backpack.
In addition, other tools can be attached to the daisy chain with carabiners. Great! The zippers are all very strong and do not cause any problems even after repeated use in salt water.
I would rate the price-performance ratio as “very good”. All of my criteria were met very satisfactorily. I will continue to use the CountDown Backpack from Rapala and recommend that you also give it a try! I am sure you’ll like it.
